I provide psychologist-led assessments for ADHD in children and adults, conducted in accordance with NICE guideline NG87. My ADHD assessments include a comprehensive developmental history, school input for children, the application of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, assessment of functional impairment across various settings, consideration of differential and co-occurring conditions, and clear written diagnostic feedback with evidence-based recommendations.
I am not however a clinical or educational psychologist.
With extensive qualifications and experience, I hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology. I also possess an ADHD specialist diagnostic certification and various other certificates in Neurodivergent issues.
Over many years, I have specialized in ADHD coaching, helping individuals navigate challenges and harness their unique strengths. My ADHD assessments are thorough, evidence-based, and conducted with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
These assessments are designed to provide a clear understanding of an individual’s needs and are offered as stand-alone services. While they cannot be used for shared care agreements or medication purposes, they deliver valuable insights that can inform personal growth, workplace adjustments, or further support.
I can refer clients privately to a partner organisation for assessment for suitability for medication if required.
Please see the 'partnered with Phoenix' page for information on how to seek a medication pathway if you choose that route.
My focus is on empowering individuals with ADHD to thrive by providing a professional and supportive assessment experience tailored to their unique journey.
An in-depth report is produced at the end of the assessment which will also require input from someone who has known you since childhood.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will my NHS GP accept this diagnosis?
Yes. Your assessment strictly adheres to the criteria set out in the UK NICE Guideline NG87. This guideline explicitly states that a diagnosis can be made by a specialist psychiatrist or an "other appropriately qualified healthcare professional with training and expertise." Your assessor's status as an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (AFBPsS), combined with a Specialist Certificate in ADHD Assessment, meets this national legal standard.
In some cases however some GP's can be reluctant to accept a non NHS diagnostic pathway for assessment, so you may want to check first.
Although I don't provide medication I have a partner organisation who refer on to GP's once medication is titrated appropriately.
How does the Shared Care Agreement work with Phoenix Mental Health Services?
Under UK guidelines, an NHS GP cannot take over prescriptions for a private patient until that patient is completely stable on their medication. Phoenix Mental Health Services—a fully CQC-regulated medical provider—manages this entire stabilization (titration) process. Once their GMC-registered psychiatrists confirm your stable dose, they formally request a Shared Care Agreement, allowing your GP to safely take over your prescriptions at standard NHS costs.
Will my employer, school or university accept my report for adjustments?
Absolutely. Because your report provides a formal, clinically valid diagnosis of a neurodevelopmental condition, it serves as legal evidence of a disability. Under the Equality Act 2010, UK employers, HR departments, Access to Work, and schools or universities (via Disabled Students' Allowance/DSA) are legally obligated to review this report and implement reasonable adjustments.
What is the FAAS-40 and why is it used?
The Female Adult ADHD Scale (FAAS-40) is a peer-recognized diagnostic tool created specifically to address the gender gap in ADHD care. Traditional testing tools were designed around young hyperactive male presentation.
The FAAS-40 is integrated into my assessments to accurately measure social masking, internalized symptoms, and compensatory coping strategies that standard tests frequently miss.
Can you prescribe my medication directly?
No. In the UK, psychologists do not prescribe controlled medications. To ensure absolute clinical safety, we keep psychological profiling entirely separate from medical prescribing. If you choose to explore medication, I handle a direct, seamless referral to Phoenix Mental Health Services, whose medical team manages all prescriptions and physical health checks.
